Day 1:
Have a gourmet breakfast in our Palmetto Cafe before meeting your small group for a walking tour of the city. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time, because these tours tend to sell out everyday! Afterwards, enjoy afternoon tea in the Thoroughbred Club while you discus all the new things you learned from the tour. Afterwards, visit one of the many antebellum historic house tours. We highly recommend the Nathanial Russell, Aiken-Rhett, or Edmondston-Alston homes. Enjoy dinner in the highly acclaimed Charleston Grill, where you can recount your day.
Day 2:
Start the day off with a boat ride to Fort Sumter. This tour is the only one that takes you to the site of the start of the Civil War. In the afternoon, allow us to pack you a prefect picnic lunch to take to a plantation. Middleton Place is ideal for seeing how plantation life was through reenactments and the preserved manor house and slave quarters. Enjoy your lunch under a Live Oak tree overlooking the river.
Spend your evening wandering the historic district and cobble stone streets, passing many art galleries, museums, restaurants. Make sure to see the famous “Rainbow Row”.
Day 3:
Depending on your interests, your morning could consist of a Gullah Tour, historical carriage tour, a tour of the USS Yorktown or a visit to the newly opened Slave Museum. From there, walk back to the hotel and allow us to pamper you in our Spa. You can order lunch and have it brought to you while you enjoy a spa treatment or relax on our sun deck. Later, stroll to the Battery passing many hidden gardens and enjoy the sunset from a swing on Waterfront Park.
